Star Wars Weekends is an annual event at Disney's Hollywood Studios where people from all over the world come to celebrate the widely popular franchise that is Star Wars. Festivities include parades featuring the beloved characters, celebrity meet-and-greets with the actors and actresses from the movies, shopping for exclusive limited-edition Star Wars merchandise, and eating gigantic cupcakes featuring Darth Vader himself... What? That last point isn't something people come from everywhere to experience? Ok, but it was definitely on the top of my list. Plus, we were celebrating a friend's birthday who happens to be obsessed with all things Star Wars, so it was perfectly fitting for the occasion.
The cupcake featured a rich chocolate muffin, was nearly doubled in height thanks to the mound of chocolatey-peanut-buttery frosting, and topped with a milk chocolate Darth Vader. If this wasn't going to make me a full-fledged Star Wars fan, I don't know what would! I ordered 2, 1 for the birthday girl to share with everyone, and 1 for me. Selfish? No way... Just realistic in knowing that no one could finish the entire cupcake alone except me. Was I right? Sure enough, and I finished the frosting from the others' :) Master Yoda would be proud, he would.
