Tuesday's Tip
When it comes to eating sweets, I take no shortcuts. I do not like having dessert-flavored yogurt as my treat at the end of the night, using healthy substitute ingredients while baking, or having just a tiny portion of dessert. I am confident that by living a healthy lifestyle all day from exercising and having a nutritiously balanced diet that a satisfying portion of cake, handful of chocolate chip cookies, or heaping bowlful of ice cream can be enjoyed without guilt. If we restrict ourselves from the things that we love most when trying to lose weight, we only will see results for a short while. Been there done that, trust me. I have tried having carrot cake yogurt, brownies baked with applesauce instead of butter/oil, and eating half of the dessert that I would normally eat, but come the following week, I am inhaling everything sweet around me because I have deprived myself of something that I love so much. My Dad always preached the concept of "Work hard, play hard", so when I work hard during the day at being very healthy, I am going to play hard at the end of the night with dessert! Don't worry, your hard work will not be cancelled out by doing this. Think of it as a reward for being committed for the vast majority of the day. This is how to have the best of both worlds.
Great advice, it's so much harder to stay committed when you feel deprived every day. I <3 Girls Vs. Sweetz!!!
