Stress-free Potlucks

Tuesday's Tip

Holidays = comfort food. Am I right? You never see people bringing in salads, fruit, or vegetables as holiday potluck items; rather, it's cookies, fudge, candy, and sweet breads. Since it is nearly impossible to not partake in sampling these delicious items, make sure that you are eating as healthy as possible when you have control of the food around you. Whatever meals you are at home for should be full of vitamins and minerals your body needs to get through the day. Then, when you are at work, it is ok to eat each of the goodies because you have balanced it at home. I eat breakfast and dinner at home, so I make sure to have a healthy first and last meal of the day (even if that means sacrificing some flavor) because I know that there will be yummy unhealthy things at work. Food is a huge part of the holidays, and it should be sufficiently celebrated!

  1. I think it's great how your advice isn't to avoid all the delicious foods, but rather how we can still partake in all the yummy food and feel good about it!
