Savor Savoree

Social Sunday

Usually, "Social Sundays" are when a recipe from a family member or friend are showcased, but not this week! My husband and I decided to go out to lunch as a relaxing way to start the week. We called it our own "Social Sunday". Lately, we have been exploring restaurants we haven't been to, and the downtown Winter Garden area has become one of our favorite places to dine. Good friends of ours were recently in that area and ate at a restaurant called Savoree. Known for using fresh ingredients, the owners strive to create delicious yet nutritious meals for their customers. Their menu incorporates a wide variety of offerings from salads to sandwiches to wraps to quinoa bowls, and their drinks include some amazing fruit smoothies. Seth and I both agreed that this would be the perfect spot for a relaxing lunch. The moment we walked through the door, the owner greeted us with a smile on his face and a "Welcome to Savoree!", something you don't find much anymore. We instantly felt at home and surrounded by great hospitality. He recommended 2 separate meals to us, "The Big Buffalo" featuring chopped chicken in buffalo sauce with ranch dressing and crumbled blue cheese for Seth and the "Brooklyn Bowl" featuring Thai-seasoned ground turkey mixed with a mango salsa with edamame over a bed of quinoa. Those both sounded perfect, and with the owner's seal of approval on them, we knew we couldn't go wrong. The smoothies also came highly recommended, so we ordered the strawberry banana one (Seth is a sucker for smoothies). The restaurant features a beautiful dine-in area, but we had our puppy, Motzi, with us, and she was very well accommodated in their outdoor seating and dog bowl with water that they offer for their furry customers. It was a beautiful day, so the 3 of us enjoyed the sun and breeze while we ate. My quinoa bowl was packed with flavor. The spiciness of the Thai seasoning was perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the mango salsa, and there were tortilla crisps on top that had a crunch that also perfectly balanced the soft textures of ground turkey and quinoa. I was full nearly half way through but ended up finishing the whole thing. Was there any guilt about that? Absolutely not! Calorie counts are shown on their website, and this bowl is under 400 calories and loaded with protein, fruit, and vegetables. Seth raved about the fresh taste of the bread and said his sandwich had the perfect amount of all of the ingredients on it. The smoothie was so refreshing and the perfect end to the meal.

An awesome offering they have for customers to join is a meal plan. For a reasonable price, customers interested in having fresh, nutritious, and flavorful meals all week long can customize meals to their needs and desires that are made right at the restaurant. I absolutely love this restaurant's focus on health for their customers. You don't find that focus very frequently. From the passionate owners, delicious menu items, and and healthy focus, I know this restaurant is going to become one that we frequent regularly in the future. Check them out for yourself here! You have got to check this place out.
