Fit Day Friday
One of my favorite events we used to participate in during PE class was Jump Rope for Heart. Jumping rope was so fun, and there were so many tricks we learned to make it even more fun. Ever since being introduced to that, I could usually be found on the playground with my friends jumping rope during recess too. Looking back, I can see why the teachers loved that I liked to jump rope- it sure did wear out some of my energy! That is still something I find to be very fun today, and I also see the amazing health benefits it has. It is an incredible cardio work-out, hence why it was perfect for the annual Jump Rope for Heart event. Jumping rope also helps with muscle toning throughout you entire body. Don't get discouraged if you find yourself sore after the first day you do it; remember, the burn says it's working! Lastly, it forces you to have better posture since it would be very difficult to jump rope with a hunched over back. So, go on, turn on your favorite playlist and grab a jump rope. It will be such a fun "blast from the past" that you won't even realize that you are getting a great work out in.
