Social Sunday
Christmas-time is full of traditions, and one in my family is our "breakfast" on Christmas morning. I use quotations because it is not like any other breakfast my Mom would have fed us on a normal day. Let's just say it's not the healthiest way to start the day, but it definitely shows how sweet my Mom is (like what I did there?). The 5 (and now 6 with the love of my life) of us devour the entire meal in a matter of minutes... and then we run around with our new Christmas gifts on a sugar high.
Monkey Bread
Ingredients
-3 packages refrigerated biscuit dough
-1 cup white sugar
-2tsp cinnamon
-1/2 cup butter
-1 cup brown sugar
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease bundt pan.
2. Mix white sugar and cinnamon in large plastic bag.
3. Cut biscuits into quarters and slowly add to plastic bag while shaking in the mix.
4. Arrange pieces in the pan layering to fill in the empty holes.
5. In small saucepan, melt butter with brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1min and then pour over biscuits in pan.
6. Bake for 35min, then let cool in pan for 10min.
7. Turn onto large plate and serve immediately by pulling apart onto separate plates.
It looks like I will be missing out on Christmas breakfast this year due to my work schedule, so thank you, Mom, for the recipe so that I can make it here and feel like I'm at home on one of my favorite days of the year! I'll also finish any of your leftovers when I come home that afternoon :)
