Don't Wait for Weights

*Thinks to self* Uh oh, it's raining. I guess I can't exercise outside... I could go to the gym, but it seems so far away, and this rain is really coming down. Looks like I will just have to miss out on today's workout!


Whoa whoa whoa, wait just one second. You do not have to have perfect weather OR access to a gym to get a great workout in. One of my favorite rainy-day workouts is an exercise I did as a kid in Physical Education class- Jumping Jacks (back then I really liked them because it had "jacks" in the name. Ok, so maybe that is still a reason of why I like them so much... Call them jumping *insert your name here* and see how awesome they seem then!). The amazing cardio and strengthening effects these basic movements have is incredible. I do them in sets of 50 for about 20 minutes with a quick 30 seconds of jogging-in-place between sets. Put the TV on a favorite program of yours to help pass the time. You will feel it in your arms, you will feel it in your legs, and you will feel it in your sides, but most of all, you will feel very accomplished on that rainy day and be ready to snuggle up on the couch guilt-free!

  1. Great advice! It's always amazing how unmotivated rainy days make me. This is just the pick me up I'll need!
