Tuesday's Tip
What is your motivator? Are you getting in shape because of a personal goal you've set? So you can be more active with your kids? Because your doctor said you should for your health? It doesn't matter what your motivator is, but it does matter that you have one. Saying that you want to lose weight is only half of your goal. You should always have a "why" factor in your goal as well. My motivator for staying in shape is that I can do so may things with the energy I have from living a healthy lifestyle. "I want to get in shape because I signed up for a 5K that takes place in a few months", "I want to lose weight because I want to set a good example for my family", and "I want to get in shape because my last physical showed some scary results" are all great motivators for achieving your goals. Whatever your motivator may be, keep your eye on the prize when you are looking for a snack in the pantry and deciding if you'll go for that morning run. Humans are creatures of emotion, and when your mind lets your body know why you want to do something, it'll be a lot easier to make it happen.
