Maniac Monday: Challenge- Girl Vs. Zinger Mountain Melt
The Ale House is a very popular hang-out in town. From the great bar food, extensive drink menu, and flat-screen TVs everywhere, it always makes for a fun time. Not to mention that they are scattered all over, so it always seems like a convenient place to go no matter where you're at. My cousin was recently in town for work, so Seth, my brother Jared, and I met up with him at Ale House for dinner. Being from up north, Rich had not ever been to an Ale House before, so we were excited to take him for his first experience. Seth and Rich got a delicious rack of ribs, Jared got some tasty vegetarian tacos, but it was my menu item that really sets Ale House apart from other sports bars- the Zinger Mountain Melt. The name says it all. "Zingers" are their world famous boneless chicken wings, and since their introduction to the menu have become so popular that many new menu items have been created that use them as the star of the entree, the Zinger Mountain Melt being one of them. Traditionally, this dish comes with medium-garlic Zingers served over a bed of crispy French fries, but I like to sweeten it up a bit. I replace the medium-garlic Zingers with honey mustard Zingers and the French fries with sweet potato fries for a sweet alternative to this Ale House favorite. Also piled onto this meant-to-be-shared menu item are bacon bits, scallions, and melted cheese. It comes out on a sizzling hot plate emitting the sweet aromas and colorful ingredients. As always, it was mouthwatering and without a single bite left by the end of the meal.
