Are you a lean mean fighting machine? If you want to get lean, you have to eat lean. There are lean cuts of nearly every source of meat, so eating lean doesn't mean you are limited to chicken and fish. Pork tenderloin is the leanest cut of park containing very little fat, and the fat that it does contain can easily be trimmed off. By sticking with a healthy option for a marinade, this can easily become one of your family's easy and savory go-to meals. One of my favorite recipes has less than 10 ingredients and is done in a crock pot. Does it get any easier than that? Other than the pork tenderloin itself, the flavorings are all things you would have in your pantry already. So, get out that crock pot, and let's get cooking!
Balsamic Brown Sugar Glazed Pork Tenderloin
Ingredients
-2 cloves minced garlic
-1tsp salt
-1/2 tsp pepper
-2tsp sage
-2lbs pork tenderloin
-1 cup water, divided
-1/2 cup light brown sugar
-1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
-2tbsp soy sauce
-1tbsp cornstarch
Directions
1. Combine garlic, salt, pepper, and sage in a small bowl.
2. Rub mixture on pork tenderloin massaging the combination into the meat so that the flavor grabs on, and place the seasoned pork into a crock pot.
3. Pour 1/2 cup water over pork and set crock pot on low if cooking for 8hrs and high if cooking for 4hrs.
4. 1 hour prior to the tenderloin being done, combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sauce has thickened.
5. Pour sauce over the pork tenderloin and continue to cook in the crock pot for remaining time.
