Ahhh, the Taste of Fall

Maniac Monday: Challenge- Girl Vs. Pumpkin Pancakes

The leaves are changing colors, there is a crispness in the air, and the smell of pumpkin is all around. It must be Fall! Being from Florida, I am not really exposed to many of the beauties of this season. When I was little, my Aunt Julie and Uncle Bob would send my brothers and me a HUGE box of fallen leaves so we could experience piling them all up and then JUMPING or SLIDING into them! How fun.

I visited Washington, D.C. this past weekend to meet my new baby Godson and celebrate his Baptism. After the ceremony, we all went out to breakfast to a restaurant called Eggspectations. I knew I wanted pancakes, but what kind should I get? Blueberry, yum... Chocolate Chip, delicious... Classic buttermilk, such a hit... Wait, what's that on the Specials Menu? PUMPKIN HARVEST PANCAKES with CARAMELIZED APPLES and CANDIED PECANS?! Done. If that doesn't scream, "IT'S FALL!", I don't know what does. Piled high with all the fixings and plenty of maple syrup, there was not a single bite left on my plate. The delicious food plus the amazing company of some family members in town for the Baptism made for a wonderful Saturday morning. Happy Baptism little Lukie, and Happy Fall everyone :)
