Fit Day Friday
Seth and I recently welcomed a beautiful blue Weimaraner puppy named Motzi into our lives. She has tons of energy! Similar to people, pets have to have all of their physiological needs taken care of like eating, drinking, sleeping, and exercising before they can get their minds out of survival mode and focus on other things. A solid 20min of exercise once in the morning and again in the evening gives our rapidly growing girl the exercise she needs to be able to learn commands and tricks.
My routine with Motzi involves walking to the neighborhood dog park and playing by ourselves or with other dogs if they are there. I find myself doing a combination of running around the perimeter of the fenced in area, running from side to side, and playing fetch with her. We have such a great time! By the time we walk back, both of us are ready for some water and a rest. I didn't realize how much of a work-out playing with a puppy could be, and since it is so much fun, I don't even consider it a task to get that cardio work-out in for the day!
What kind of fun activities do you do with your pets?
