It's always good to have certain baking ingredients on hand just in case a friend calls you up and asks if you would like to join in on an impromptu cook-out later that day. Sure, you could run to the store and buy something prepackaged, but where is the fun in that? Seth and I are always looking for ways to get together with our friends, and when our puppies are all invited, it works out great for them too! The host was providing the meats, and the rest of us were to bring some sort of side to complete the meal. I opened my book of recipes to the "sides/appetizers" section and found a gem of a recipe I hadn't ever made before but enjoyed plenty of times- my Grandma's Skillet Apples. This quick and easy recipe was a nice and sweet compliment to the delicious bratwursts that were grilled. Grandma, if you saw me making your famous side earlier from up there, I hope I made you proud.
