Tuesday's Tip
Today is Earth Day! This holiday is commemorated in many countries all over the world on April 22nd to educate and celebrate our beautiful home, the Earth. It is our responsibility to conserve and preserve it for future generations so that they, too, can enjoy it. In honor of Earth Day, go and check out your local Farmers' Market. You won't find fresher, more vibrant, tastier fruits and vegetables anywhere else. As good as it is to go shopping at your local grocery stores, the food they sell might have been picked weeks prior to arriving on the shelves. Sure, they are clean, healthy, and economical, but some of the nutritional value has been lost since they aren't at their freshest. However, at your local Farmers' Market, the fruits and vegetables (and lots of other great things) are picked within miles from your house just before being placed on the tables. Not only are you getting the most nutrient-packed offerings you can, you are also helping make strong the local economy supporting farmers in your area. Farmers' Markets are usually dog-friendly, too, so Motzi loves going to socializing with other puppies. There is usually a local musician as well as art work, jewelry, and other home-made specialties made with love by your neighbors. It's a fun way to spend a morning!
