How many times do we find ourselves in a rush in the morning? Because of that, how many times do we find ourselves overlooking breakfast? That second question is the one that is concerning... Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day. It gives you that first source of energy after a good night's sleep and starts your metabolism for the day. I have posted about my Mystery Flavor Smoothies before (find it here), and today I have another favorite smoothie that is a bit less of a mystery but just as equally delicious and nutritious. The best part about this, though, is how easy and quick it is to throw together because you literally do just that- throw it together. With the help of a blender or Magic Bullet (I love this thing and use it often. Check it out here), throw in a handful of spinach, whatever fresh or frozen fruit you have on hand, and some milk (more for a thinner consistency, less for a thicker consistency). That covers veggies, fruits, and protein. Most recently, those fruits were blueberries and raspberries in our house which made for a tasty berry breakfast smoothie. Pour it into a to-go cup for a fast, fresh, and flavorful breakfast on the run!
Berry Breakfast Smoothie
Ingredients
-1/2 cup blueberries
-1/2 cup raspberries
-1/2 cup spinach
-1/2 cup skim milk
Directions
1. Put ingredients in Magic Bullet or blender in the order listed.
2. Blend until desired consistency.
